Know Your Nicotine Strengths

UK Nicotine Strengths

We tend not to know much about what we are vaping or even what we should be vaping when it comes to our vapes and the strengths of nicotine.

We have a rule within Liquid City for each of our customers and that is to make sure they are on the right vape journey. That goes hand in hand with the correct device and right Nicotine levels.

The nicotine content in vaping can vary depending on the brand and product.

Disposable and e-liquids typically come in different nicotine strengths to cater to the users' preferences. Nicotine strength is usually measured in milligrams per milliliter (mg/ml) or as a percentage. Here are some common nicotine strengths found in disposable vapes:

  1. Low Nicotine (3 mg/ml or 0.3%): This is considered a lower level of nicotine and may be suitable for individuals looking to reduce their nicotine intake or for those who prefer a mild experience.
  2. Medium Nicotine (6 mg/ml or 0.6%): This is a moderate level of nicotine and may be suitable for users who are accustomed to smoking light or medium-strength traditional cigarettes.
  3. High Nicotine (12 mg/ml or 1.2% and above): This is a higher level of nicotine and may be preferred by individuals who are heavy smokers of regular-strength cigarettes.
  4. Very High (18mg/ml or 1.8%): Is considered relatively high in the world of e-cigarettes and vaping. It's often chosen by individuals who are extremely heavy smokers of regular-strength tobacco cigarettes and are looking for a vaping experience that provides a comparable level of nicotine.

    Vaping With No Nicotine

    1. Nicotine-Free: Some disposable and e-liquids are available with no nicotine content, providing an option for individuals who enjoy the act of vaping but want to avoid nicotine altogether. This is not always known and we would love this to be more widely available as common knowledge.

    Nicotine Salts

Nicotine salts, often referred to as nic salts, are a type of nicotine that is found in the leaves of the tobacco plant. They are known for providing a smoother and quicker nicotine hit compared to traditional freebase nicotine; making them popular in certain types of e-liquids, especially in higher nicotine concentrations.
Nicotine salts are commonly used in pod systems and other low-powered devices.
Nicotine salt e-liquids typically come in various strengths, measured in milligrams per milliliter (mg/ml). Common nic salt strengths include:
      1. 20mg/ml (2.0%): This is a commonly found strength in nic salt e-liquids. It's suitable for individuals who are heavy smokers or those who prefer a higher nicotine concentration.
      2. 10mg/ml (1.0%) concentration is considered a moderate nicotine strength. It's suitable for individuals who are looking for a balance between nicotine satisfaction, and a less intense experience compared to higher nicotine strengths.
It's important to note that the nicotine strength in nic salt e-liquids can be significantly higher than what is commonly found in traditional freebase nicotine e-liquids. Due to the smoother nature of nicotine salts, users may not feel the harsh throat hit associated with higher nicotine levels in freebase form.
As always, individuals should choose a nicotine strength that aligns with their previous smoking habits and personal preferences. Additionally, it's crucial to be mindful of your nicotine intake and to avoid excessive consumption, as nicotine is an addictive substance.
It's recommended to consult with knowledgeable vape retailers or healthcare professionals if you have specific questions about nicotine strengths and their suitability for your needs.
